MSC is a journey that can be learnt by anyone Compassion is not so much an emotion as a desire/wish to remove suffering. Self-compassion is not self-pity or self-indulgence. Self-compassion provides emotional strength and resilience, allowing us to admit our shortcomings, motivate ourselves with kindness and forgive ourselves when needed.
We relate to ourselves and others in a more authentic way. MSC is Mindfulness & Compassion training, not just mindfulness training. Simply asking the question “What’s the more compassionate option here?” brings the mind into the present and trains the brain towards compassionate motivation as a default mode (Thupten Jinpa).
Latest research shows the proven benefits of Mindful Self-Compassion (MSC) may safely and effectively improve health by; enhancing emotional well being, building resilience, boosting happiness and reducing anxiety and depression and that the benefits are sustained even one year after the completion of the MSC programme. MSC has also been shown to reduce Care Giver Fatigue and improve relationships.
