Kathryn Lovewell

Author & Co-Founder of Kind Mind Academy

Kathryn is the founder of Kind Mind Academy and certified mindful self-compassion teacher. She is the best-selling author of The Little Book of Self-Compassion - a gentle introduction to Mindful Self-Compassion; The Voices in my Head! - a children's book about self-compassion and Every Teacher Matters, Inspiring Well-being through Mindfulness - a self-care book for educators.

Her 121 Compassion Consciousness Coaching enables clients to live a rich life of present moment awareness, personal liberation and joy. Her Compassionate Body Programme supports those struggling to make friends with their body. And her ultimate love is to inspire parents and children to learn the language of Booster, the compassionate voice, so that they can tend to themselves no matter what happens in their life.

She is a founding volunteer teacher of the Global Circles of Practice, where she provides nourishing meditations and often thought-provoking reflections, weekly, on Wednesdays at 7am PT class for The Centre of Mindful Self-Compassion.

Liz Walker

Co-Founder of Kind Mind Academy

Liz is the Co-founder of Kind Mind Academy, the skilful ‘behind the scenes’ Operations Manager and queen of all things technical. She has created a unique members platform for all Kind Mind Graduates providing all the resources for Kind Minders to continue their self-compassion adventure. Liz has also curated the new KMA website, making it easier to access all the free resources for newcomers to begin their self-compassion voyage with ease.

Liz is the Director of Kind Mind Publishing, having published both The Little Book of Self-Compassion and The Voices in my Head storybook and colouring book. (Liz loves her colouring books!) She is now underway with her next ambitious project. Watch this space!

Liz is the creator of The Kindness Band™. A silicon bracelet that shares the message of self-kindness and serves as an anchor for all graduates of MSC. She has created a beautiful gift-set that invites you to “wear one and share one”. Liz hopes these bands will serve as a reminder that kindness and compassion is the key to circumnavigating the ups and downs of life. Her dream is that these bands will be available for all people in all sectors of the community to support them on their adventure called life. And Liz is proud to share that this little purple band has literally saved someone’s life.

Her mission is to inspire mindful self-compassion in every-day life.
Liz is a Trained Mindful Self-Compassion Teacher and has taught MSC courses and workshops in the UK, Australia and online. She is an active member of the Centre for Mindful Self-Compassion and MSC UK.

Dr. Barbara Payman

Kindness Co-ordinator for Kind Mind Academy

Barbara is a psychotherapist, ordained Interfaith Minister and qualified mindfulness teacher. She is deeply committed to a spiritual path and 'service'. She is passionate about bringing as much peace, kindness and compassion into the world/to individuals as she can. She adores nature and living by the sea. Her early background was academic, and her Ph.D. is in Zoology.

Chris Germer PhD

Author, Co-Founder of Center for Mindful Self-Compassion

Chris Germer, PhD is a clinical psychologist and lecturer on psychiatry (part-time) at Harvard Medical School. He co-developed the Mindful Self-Compassion (MSC) program with Kristin Neff in 2010 and MSC has since been taught to over 200,000 people worldwide. They co-authored two books on MSC, The Mindful Self-Compassion Workbook and Teaching the Mindful Self-Compassion Program.

Chris spends most of his time lecturing and leading workshops around the world on mindfulness and self-compassion, as well as supporting MSC teachers and consulting on self-compassion research. He is also the author of The Mindful Path to Self-Compassion; he co-edited two influential volumes on therapy, Mindfulness and Psychotherapy, and Wisdom and Compassion in Psychotherapy; and he maintains a small private practice in Arlington, Massachusetts, USA.

Galia Tyano Ronen

Co-Founder of Self-Compassion in Psychotherapy & Co-Founder of The Magical Children of Light

Founder of Self-Compassion in Psychotherapy. Pioneer of Mindful Self-Compassion in Israel. Creator of a bilingual Arab Jews MSC course - Planting Seeds of Compassion and founding member of the global movement of The Magical Children of Light.

Galia Tyano Ronen loves life on earth with all it brings into her soul and vice versa. She loves the diversity of connections with people, nature, arts, body, music and spirit.

From a very young age, she was deeply drawn to the natural world. As a certified mindful self-compassion teacher, focusing oriented therapist, artist and clinical psychologist specialized in children adolescents and adults; she walks a path, accompanying people over a section of their lives.

A mindfulness teacher for therapists and educators, incorporating mind body spirit work in her encounters. She is also an organizer of MSC Intensives and retreats, Pioneering mindful self-compassion in Israel, responsible and mentoring Hebrew speakers MSC teachers. She created a bilingual Arab Jews MSC course - "Planting Seeds of Compassion ''and is part of the founders of " the global , movement of the magical children of light.

The mother of four children, Galia is involved in their school parents' committee management. She runs " the heart path" center for courses based on compassion and mindfulness and is the program director of SCIP (self-compassion in psychotherapy) certificate program that she developed. She and her family live surrounded by nature in the beautiful mountains of the upper Galilee, Israel.

With her local community, she creates culture festivals based on the generosity, togetherness, free will, spirit and talent of citizens living in Kiryat-Tivon, without any government help. She strives to give the place in which she lives a sense of united, loving community, including all people near and far using earth-honoring tradition.

James Baraz

Author, Creator of Awakening Joy

James has been a meditation teacher since 1978.  He is creator and teacher of the Awakening Joy course (since 2003).

He leads retreats, workshops and classes in U.S and abroad.  Co-founding Teacher of Spirit Rock Meditation Center in Woodacre, CA.

Co-author of Awakening Joy, the book based on the course (with Shoshana Alexander) and Awakening Joy for Kids (with Michele Lilyanna).

He is a Guiding Teacher for One Earth Sangha, a Virtual EcoDharma Center devoted to expressing a Buddhist response to Climate Change

James lives in Berkeley, California with his wife, Jane.  He has two sons and three grandchildren.

Nimo Patel is a global humanitarian also known around the world as “Kindness Rapper”, who’s music has revolutionized positivity through hip hop. Many people say Nimo is a mix between Chance the Rapper and Fred Rogers from Mr. Rogers Neighborhood. Through his non-profit Empty Hands Music, Nimo has performed in over 20 countries across the world, spreading his message of love, kindness and service. He has directed two Musicals with 33 underprivileged children from India and toured the show with his children across the world, both in 2012 and 2019. His purpose in life is to be a instrument of love and peace through whatever work he embarks upon.

The Museum of Happiness was born in 2015 after its co-founders, youth and resilience mentor Vicky Johnson and mindfulness trainer and author Shamash Alidina, met at the Vauxhall Community Centre in 2014 and realised that they shared a vision to spread more peace, love and happiness in the world!
