Crocuses and self-kindness
Well, here on the north east coast, we are still having many murky grey days. But signs of spring are nevertheless finding their way. And are there to notice and enjoy.
Snowdrops have been showing since January. Apparently, there are dozens of different types. As one of the first visible signs that we are approaching spring, it's always good to see them. But my particular favourites are crocuses. And there are plenty around now to savour and enjoy. The brightness of the oranges and purples offers wonderful notes of spring, contrasting with the largely wintry song elsewhere.
Sometimes our inner landscape can feel similar to the scene I am describing... fairly bland and grey but with the odd splash of colour. How important then to pay attention to those splashes, and give them some time, and allow ourselves to feel grateful. Our spirits can certainly be uplifted by them.

This week's self-kindness invitation is to look out for the crocuses, literal and metaphorical, and to give yourself the opportunity to savour them and give thanks for their beauty touching your life. I wish you happy sightings!
Go well.
