Harvest Moon and Self Kindness

September 29, 2026•1 min read

This week's mail is a shorter one.

You may have seen the beautiful full harvest moon a few days ago. I was on the cliffs when it was due to rise. I love the timing of the full moon rising... always coinciding with the sun setting. So behind me I had the setting sun, and over the sea the rising moon. A glowing orange ball going down and a creamy white ball rising up. Really wonderful. But made even more special by the wildlife. At exactly the time the moon was due to rise, I noticed some rippling nearby in an otherwise calm sea. It was a pod of dolphins! Passing by me at a very gentle peaceful pace. A really magical time.

I was awestruck by the timing of the dolphin sighting. Such beautiful creatures. There were calves too. And I was so busy watching and enjoying them that I missed the moments when the moon was starting to appear above the horizon! But my harvest from the evening felt very special and deeply nourishing. And I felt extremely grateful to have had the opportunity to be among such beauty.

This week's self-kindness invitation is to give yourself opportunities to 'savour beauty', in whatever forms you choose, to harvest the gifts and to take a moment to feel your gratitude.

Go well.

In warmth and kindness
